Stop the crawl, clear them all!
How To Minimize Spiders Between Treatments
01
Seal Entry Points
Check windows, doors, and cracks in the foundation, then seal them with caulk or weather stripping to prevent spiders from getting inside.
02
Maintain Cleanliness
keep your home clean and clutter-free, particularly in corners, basements, and attics where spiders tend to build webs. Regularly vacuum these areas and remove any visible webs or egg sacs.
03
Natural Repellents
Use natural repellents like essential oils (e.g., peppermint or citrus) in spray form around entryways and common spider hangouts to keep them at bay.
04
Maintain Landscaping
Trim outdoor vegetation and clear debris around your home, as shrubs and tall grass provide ideal pathways for spiders to enter.
What Spiders are in Southern Utah?
Black Widow
Female black widows are glossy black with a distinctive red hourglass-shaped marking on their abdomen. Their bite is venomous and can cause severe pain, muscle cramps, and other symptoms, though fatalities are rare.
Tarantula
These large, hairy spiders can be intimidating due to their size, but they are not aggressive. They generally use their fangs to inject venom into prey, which is used to immobilize and digest it.
Brown recluse spiders have a distinctive violin-shaped marking on their back, with a light brown or tan color. While their bites can cause severe tissue damage and necrosis, they are not typically aggressive.
Brown Recluse
These spiders are small and pale yellow, with a slightly translucent appearance. While their bite is not deadly, it can cause localized pain, swelling, and irritation.
Yellow Sac
Hobo Spider
Hobo spiders are brown and have a characteristic "herringbone" pattern on their abdomen. Their bite is generally not life-threatening but can cause localized pain and swelling.
These spiders are smaller than brown recluses and often have a similar violin-shaped marking. Their bite can cause mild to moderate symptoms, though fatalities are extremely rare.
Desert Recluse
The Western spotted orb weaver has a distinctive orange and brown body with black markings. Its web is often built in the open, and it waits in the center for prey to become entangled.

Wolf spiders are large, robust, and often brown or gray with distinctive markings on their bodies. They are hunters, rather than web-builders, and are known for their speed and agility.
Wolf Spider
Similar to other recluse spiders, the Arizona brown has a violin-shaped marking on its back and is brown in color. Its bite is venomous and can cause localized tissue damage, but it is rarely life-threatening.
Arizona Brown
These small, colorful spiders are known for their large eyes and excellent vision. They are hunters that actively stalk and leap on their prey.
